Happy Halloween!
Just a few pictures from Halloween this year! I seriously think that I will paint my face as a Dia de los Muertos skull until I cease dressing up for the holiday. I love that I can just wear all black and paint my face up–easiest costume!
I actually got to play with the color twice this year and I can’t decide which of the looks I liked best! The red was great but I loved playing with all of the silver and blue glitter to go with the cobalt around my eye.
Along with my face, I got to do a few of my friends too. The Saturday before Halloween was the annual Galactic with JJ Gray and Mofro concert at Stubbs. I’ve spent the last few years going to a concert at that venue- so when I recruited one of my best friends to tag along that day, she was stumped on a costume. Luckily, I had picked up a few extra lashes at CVS a few days prior for some of my clients. She came over and we picked the peacock lashes to play with (1st pic). We were scrambling to get to Stubbs, so in a whirlwind I slapped on some of Maybelline’s 24 hr Tattoo Cream Gel Shadow in ‘Edgy Emerald’, then filled her lids in with MAC’s Pressed Pigment in “Deeply Dashing” followed by Makeup Forever’s Holodium Powder in 302. The purples and turquoise glitter really helped pull the entire look together after the lashes were on.
On Halloween, we went to dinner at Uchiko before another concert. I’m not really sure what I made my godsister, Charisse Sayers, into but I really just wanted to use my Paperself eyelashes that had a coral reef complete with seahorses and fish. I was also really excited to use my new ‘Makeup Forever Flash Color Case’. I had been waiting to take the plunge and buy it, so when my sisters gave me a gift card to Sephora for my birthday, it was the first thing to go in my basket. I decided to throw a punch of ‘neo-orange’ on her lid to contrast the light aqua and silver surrounding her eyes. Since Paperself lashes are indeed tiny works of art I did not want to cut them down. To showcase the inspiration for the look I ended up gluing them onto the top of her brows and filled them in with Makeup Forever’s ‘Holodium Powder in Shade 303’. The glitter reflected all of the blues, greens and golds in the light, truly giving her an ‘under the sea’ effect.
My friend Corinne and I went to see Boom Box and right before we went in I drew a heart around her eye in red lipstick and glued on some giant red-feathered lashes right outside Moody Theater. It was a Halloween of impromptu costumes before going to concerts, but it was fun for me and they ended up looking pretty great!
