October was a month that had weeks that seemed to last forever yet at the same time flew by in the blink of an eye. I can’t believe we’re already to November. It’s been a busy summer and an even busier fall. October was filled with lots of events. Between Austin City Limits, celebrating my 30th birthday here in Austin then taking a relaxing trip to Laguna, other October friends bdays, renting my house out, shoots, clients, and much more- it was one hectic month and I’m looking forward to a slightly slower November filled with weddings.

I had a lovely birthday filled with wonderful gifts from my loved ones especially the Pat McGrath Mothership III Subversive PaletteĀ from my sister Claire. I am BEYOND excited to have this in my personal makeup stash. I do have to admit to being so excited about the palette that I’ve shown it off and used it on EVERY single client and shoot I’ve been on since the 6th haha. It’s just too pretty to have all to myself. I have to share her genius with as many people as I can.

So pretty!

As for some of my other favorite products that I used over the last month, I’ve still stuck to my aesthetic that I’ve had since the summer. More focused on skincare, dewy highlighty skin, filled in and groomed brows, loads of mascara- chapstick or bold lip OR some interest to the eye if I need to wear makeup for an outing.

Inventive Restorative Beauty Butter from the studio is my jam at night. I love slathering a thick layer of that on at night along with my Sleepy Body Lotion from Lush before bed at night and I feel like I’m in a tiny cocoon of moisture that smells like heaven.

In the morning I love the Water Cream by Tatcha. This is one of the coolest textured products I’ve ever tried. I’m addicted to how it makes my skin feel. I am always craving more hydration and FINALLY this is something that feels quenching along with blurring pores and fine lines. It’s a product that I wear alone because it makes my skin looks so great.

I had a spur of the moment Colourpop splurge and I’ve been so pleased with my purchases. The Glazed Super Shock Highlighter is a blinding silver/gold white. To contrast my highlight, I have used the Aphrodisiac Super Shock Blush down to the pan. It’s the most flattering nude tone. The Super Shock formulas are wet cream texture that dries to a powder, making them super easy to blend with your fingers. This combo is my go to. Their ILUVSARAHII Super Matte Lip color in Arriba is an amazing red that does. not. budge. and punches up any outfit. I loved matching it to my red Vans and bandana on my bday for ACL.

Lastly, my heart still belongs to Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara but I’ve found two products that are pretty great! The Maybelline Big Shot Tinted Base Primer is awesome. It makes your lashes so fluttery before you add a top coat of regular mascara. Then the Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara is close to giving Velvet Noir a run for it’s money! I picked up the travel size and am impressed!

Check back in next month for my November favorites!

Take care XOK
