Every summer I get to a legitimate boiling point. The Texas heat becomes too much, there’s too little on my plate due to weddings slowing cause it’s so damn hot out and I get stir crazy and begin to freak out a little. Thank goodness that I have two exciting celebrations this coming weekend in California. I can’t wait to attend one cousin’s wedding on Friday in Silverado then rally to a vineyard in San Diego. After a big weekend driving up and down the coast,  I will be ready to plop myself down on the beach of my childhood in Monarch Beach and just relax. I’m excited to spend some time with my sweet grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins eating at all of my favorite spots, yoga up on the bluff, chatting in the sand and opening all of the windows to sleep and listening to the waves and smelling the salt in the air.

As for my beauty routine, I’m looking forward to keeping everything pretty minimal. In addition to my skincare, I will be bringing these products along for if I do decide to wear some makeup when I’m off the beach!

Face and Body:

Glossier’s Invisible Shield Sunscreen– A unique water-gel formula sunscreen that dries clear and also protects against other pollutants.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 – I’m thankful my skin is in pretty good condition after my new routine so I’m planning to spot treat any dark spots or redness throughout the day and all over for the wedding and Bachelorette Party.

Tom Ford Soliel Blanc Shimmering Body Oil– Amber, sandalwood, bergamont, and white florals give this oil it’s intoxicating beachy scent. The small flecks of glitter are the perfect way to add interest to the skin. Summer in a bottle.

Anastasia of Beverly Hills Glow Kit The best lit-from-within glow palette. My absolute favorite way to enhance my skin.

Glossier Cloud Paint in Dusk I like to use this darker shade to give my cheeks some dimension.

Lips:

DHC Lip Balm Chapstick is something I can’t go without reapplying repeatedly throughout the day. Not only does this brand feel hydrating, the sheen is what I love most.

Smashbox Be Legendary Power Pout Set I picked this set up last time I was restocking my kit at Ulta because of the price and the range of colors that will last you through the changing seasons. I adore the neural rose-it’s THE perfect nude lip.

Eyes:

Colourpop Blow Me Away Pressed Shadow Palette My dress and heels for Friday has some orange accents that I want to highlight with these colors. Perfectly punchy for summer. Can’t wait to see how they look!

Pat McGrath Dark Star 006 Pigments in Mercury and Astral White- As I stated in my last post in my summer-must-haves, I haven’t been wearing a ton of makeup lately but I always make sure to pop one of these pigments on my inner corner to add some pizzazz while keeping my eyes super simple. I just love their textures and colors.

Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara Hands down THE best mascara I’ve ever used. This puts all other designer and drugstore mascara to shame. It’s what I hold all other mascaras to and nothing measures up quite like this guy. With fat, dramtatic, voluminous lashes, I’ve found that I can skip eyeliner altogether.

Check back for pics of my looks soon!
