thanks

There is a multitude of blessings that I am thankful for this Thanksgiving but I’d like to highlight a list of products that make doing makeup in a way that is fun, fast and interesting. These have made my life easier no matter if I’m on a shoot or doing my own makeup. Enjoy!

  1. Revlon ColorBurst Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains– This long lasting formula that is perfect for anyone who doesn’t like the feel of lipstick or gloss, or is low maintenance but wants to add a little something to spruce up their appearance. Since, these balm stain comes in a variety of colors and finishes (balm stain, matte balm & lacquer balm) you’ll never run out of options. I love the matte balm in the fall/winter and the lacquer for the warmer months. This little wonder is also under $10 at the drugstore! These are perfect for elevating your whole look in just a few seconds!
  2. Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colours– These are by far my most favorite product in my kit. I need two more then, I have the whole collection. Maybe it’s how incredibly easy they are to use (scribble+smudge w/ fingers and bam-done) or maybe it’s their beautiful range of colors, whatever it is, I have been collecting them for years, giving them as gifts, using them on myself and professionally on clients and on shoots- I can’t rave about how much I’ve come to love how beautiful and easy these sticks are! I am SO thankful for these!
  3. ANY Brow Pencil- It’s incredible what filling in your brows do for your face. They frame it and truly let your features stand out. I like to let my face take a bit of a breather during the week and I appreciate that filling in my brows lets me feel polished with a tad of concealer and tinted lip balm. Good brows really help me wear less makeup which is great!
  4. Nars Dual Intensity Eyeshadow– Another product that I am extremely thankful for this year. It can be used wet or dry, to achieve a nice sheen of color, or a rich wash of pigment on the eye. Creaseless and a wear-time of 8 hours, these shadows make for an easy choice for my brides. The array of colors range from romantic to bold and daring, earning these a permanent spot in my kit for anything I do. Desdemona is my favorite color of the year!
  5. Concealer- My skin has been downright HORRIBLE THIS YEAR. I’ve gone through the ringer and a variety of products, masks, creams, drying lotions, facials, dermatologist and doctors appointments to get it under control. Well, my bad skin did lead me to find out about some other underlying health issues, so in a way, I am thankful for finding that information out and getting some explanation, but I do want to say how thankful I am for concealer helping my self-esteem throughout this process! Concealing my skin issues was the easiest and quickest way to give me a boost of confidence if I had to leave the house. It’s hard to be a makeup artist and have bad skin! So many people are so quick to judge and study my face when I reveal what I do. Shit happens though. Concealer is a great little buddy to help you in a bind!
  6. Lip Balm- really any chapstick is great, but I can’t get enough of the Christian Dior Creme De Rose Lip Plumping Balm. Smooth, hydrated, full lips are something everyone should strive for!
  7. Mascara- Again, really just about any mascara is great but I’ve been really in to the ones with a fiberous primer as a first step because it really does make such a difference. You look like you’re wearing false lashes and you can get this type of mascara at the grocery or drug store! L’Oreal is totally on top of the game with  L’Oreal Voluminous SuperStar and their Voluminous False Fiber mascaras.

And there we go! Just a little peak into which products I am most thankful for this year! 2015 is wrapping up to have been a pretty amazing year for me with a few bumps and bruises, mending a broken heart from losing Silas, but all in all-I’m still alive and having many blessings to count with an amazing family and support system of friends and loved ones in my personal and work life. Lots to be thankful for on this Thanksgiving!

Well Wishes and Happy Holidays!
