Valentine’s Day Makeup

It’s that time of year again. Valentine’s Day is this weekend and I thought I would compile some of my makeup knowledge and tips on Valentine’s Day proof makeup. No matter if you are celebrating a new found love, one of many years or a night out with your girls, the last thing you need to be worrying about is how you look. If you’re going get gussied up for your date, you want to trust that the products you put on your face won’t betray you later for an embarrassing moment!

I think the following formula is foolproof for any occasion and audience.

-First and foremost, be yourself! I thought these articles (click here, and here!) on what guys really think of some of the most common makeup looks were pretty helpful and a fun read, but at the end of the day, you should stick to your guns. Makeup is a reflection of your personal identity, so if you feel brave, sexy, or most comfortable in electric blue eyeliner, a bold lip, an intense smokey eye or nothing at all, go for what is going to make you feel your best. Your confidence should be the star, makeup is just your friendly helper.

– Be sure to use waterproof anything. It will be the best way to ensure your products from budging.

-If you’re going to wear eyeliner, reach for a cream or gel based waterproof formula. I love Stila’s Stay All day liquid liner for a sexy cat eye or the brand’s Smudgeable gel liner for sultry eyes.

-Fake false lashes with some of these mascaras. Wouldn’t want to get all hot and heavy and have a false lash hanging from your eyelid! Be sure that these are waterproof formulas too!

-A tinted moisturizer and concealer with a dab of powder should be enough to cover any imperfections. The more natural the better, I think! He should be paying attention to your company, not your makeup! Haha

-Warm up your complexion with a hint of blush or bronzer

-You want to make your lips appear kissable and kissPROOF.

You want to draw attention to your lips to but in a positive way. You can opt for a natural color in a long lasting, hydrating formula or dare to go bare with just Chapstick! Sometimes a classic red or bold color can appear as a giant “Stop Sign” for guys-they don’t want to wear your lipstick!
