Hey yall!

Since we had so much fun on our Valentine’s Day inspired shoot last year, fashion blogger Kaley Margaret of My Closet Life and I teamed up with photographer Leandra Blei to do it again!

We chose to do two looks. One a very quick and easy, 2-minute sexy, bedroom eye with flawless skin and a nude lip-perfect for any date situation; then a super bold bordeaux statement lip complete with burgundy eyes maybe for a night out with the girls!

Here is how I achieved each look!

  1. I began by filling in Kaley’s brows with a tinted gel, and applied concealer to where it was needed, and Urban Decay’s Primer Potion on her eyelids.
  2. I took Nars Velvet Shadow Stick in Oaxaca and lightly scribbled the color all over the lid, just up into the crease and smudged with my finger. Your fingers are your best tool to achieve that nice smoked out, effortless looking eye!
  3. One of my favorite tricks–to quickly double line the eye in one swipe, I took Maybelline’s Kajal Eyeliner and loaded up her tightline with lots of liner. I had her blink hard twice, letting it transfer to the waterline and slightly under the bottom lashes. Boom–time saver! From there just smugde with either your ring finger or a small smudge brush.
  4. Add two coats of mascara
  5. I used my airbrush machine on her for a flawless complexion. Added some warmth to the skin with some bronzer and blended it out with a Beauty Blender.
  6. I topped her lips with Revlon’s Infallible Lipstick (which does NOT budge–perfect for all those Valentine’s Day kisses!) and a special edition Le Metier lip gloss in Beck Bliss for a little sheen.

For her second look:

  1. I added Nars Dual Intensity Eyeshadow in Desdemona on her eyelids up to the crease, and also on her bottom lash line and blended it out.
  2. We did the eyeliner trick that we did in the first look again. Tightline and waterline rimmed in one step!
  3. Fresh coat of mascara
  4. A pinch of pale pink blush
  5. Then I used concealer to line and fill in her lips, creating a nice even foundation for her lipstick. I used Lime Crime’s Velvetines Matte Liquid Lipstick in Wicked lining first, then filling in with two coats and letting it dry.

It was the perfect color to go with her amazing outfit. The dark eyes and lips contrasting her light skin and blonde hair made for a rad and unexpected Valentine’s Day look anyone would be envious of!
